A brand new paperback reprint of this well received book originally published in 2016.

Anyone with even the slightest interest in music will be left with a cheesy grin and the words "I'd forgotten about that band" echoing in their head after reading this collection.

Over 220 pages.

This book came about after I posted a few flyers on social media, and people were interested. It's certainly not an exhaustive or complete set.

I thought someone else would get round to putting together a book like this, then a friend nudged me to do it and I realised not everyone collects like me. I may be one of a few who actually has this stuff. So here goes...

Every Sunday I religiously went to the church of Dance Factory at Fat Sams. I ended up being a DJ there too, but this isn't an advert for them. It's where I went, it's what I did, so inevitably this collection is going to swing towards Ward Road.

You'll also find flyers for other Dundee based clubs such as; Club Feet, The Halt, The Ad Lib, West Port Bar, The Rep, Dundee University, Bar Chevrolet (Chevies) and Soul Kiss Club, all of which I attended on a fairly regular basis.

I've scanned these flyers just the way they are with creases, tears and beer stains remaining. The way it should be.

"Nostalgia can be dangerous, blinding you so much you need rose-tinted specs forever after. No such danger exists with Forgotten Music Flyers by Jan Burnett, however.
Anyone in their forties or fifties with even the slightest interest in music will be left with a cheesy grin and the words "I'd forgotten about that band" echoing in their head after reading this collection.
Dundee lad Jan owns Chute Records and plays with long-running local band Spare Snare. The book is made up of his fliers for gigs in and around Dundee from 1982 to 1994 - and makes you realise the city was a hot destination for the who's-who of 80s indie.
In this age when anyone with Photoshop can seemingly knock together a mini-masterpiece, it's easy to forget there was a time when it all took a bit longer. And bearing that in mind, you really can appreciate the time and sheer love that went into these visual treats. Typefaces, photos and layouts scream of imagination.
It's also a snapshot into a world before YouTube and Spotify, where if you wanted to hear or be heard, you had to get out of your bedroom and on to that stage or into that pub or club.
Whether you are from Dundee or not - I was following a similar scene in my native Newcastle around this time - this is a priceless journey into a nostalgia that won't hurt the eyes. 9/10"
